Bringing this back for Stan Lee’s 90th birthday; the applique I made of him when I was asked to be a guest blogger on his site.
Never forgiven myself for not getting the hair quite right…To Stan: a class act, a major influence on my creative life, and a wonderful soul. Thank you for giving me an autograph when my mother ambushed and grabbed you when you went behind my booth at a con. We will both be embarrassed about that forever but I’m so glad I got to show you this and shake your hand, no matter how much mine was shaking.

Fooplique: Susuwatari (soot sprite) x konpeito = AW YISS. Inspired by Studio Ghibli of course, but also one of my favorite tumblr posts of all time (you know that’s right). I just couldn’t resist it. Plus I had fun playing with 3D. I’m only putting this for sale on Etsy for a week because I adore these little guys and I’m fine with keeping it ahahah
Size: 6” hoop
Materials: faux fur, safety eyes, cotton, acrylic felt, fleece, yarn, hoop, embroidery floss

Slapped that Ponyo on Etsy~ (I thought I put it up already) yep you’ve seen it before but you haven’t been able to buy it. Now you can! Fun times!
Size: 5” diameter
Materials: scrap cotton, acrylic & wool felt, organza, vinyl, beads, sequins, embroidery floss, embroidery hoop -
Fooplique: Space Invaders applique! Tiny size means you could easily use it as an ornament on a tree, then hang it on your wall the rest of the year. Freaked out a bit when I found this fabric! Wish it was enough to make a skirt. But I made this lil applique with it :) I used my favorite alien. I never liked shooting him and often died when I hesitated x_x #iwillgodownwiththisship Reluctantly on Etsy here ;)
Materials: recycled acrylic felt, cotton, wooden hoop
Size: 3”

“Benson” (Regular Show) fooplique: cotton, moleskin, acrylic and wool felt, wire, vinyl, beads; 6” hoop
-
Castiel (Supernatural) Fooplique: fabric hoop embroidery fanart of my favorite unintentionally hilarious angel. 4” hoop, assorted scrap fabrics, wool and acrylic felt, glass beads, and safety eyes.
-
“The Burglar” Bilbo Baggins (The Hobbit) fooplique: cotton, wool and acrylic felt, corduroy, muslin, glass beads, safety eyes; 4” hoop
Personal collection.
Unless Martin Freeman or Amanda Abbington wants it or something cause I’m not saying no to that:X -
“Unscientific Specimens” No. 001: Scrapia fuzibutae. Moth critter made entirely from scrap materials, 3” hoop I think. (Try saying it aloud. I had to research scientific nomenclature for this, geez, and I still messed up and capitalized the “F” because it looked better)

Quickie shot of the Ponyo fooplique I did today. Needed a break from larger projects, may still tweak it, have to put backer on. Not my fave Ghibli film story-wise, but the water animation alone is unbelievable.

You guys remember that time I got featured on Stan Lee’s website? Oh, that’s right, it just happened. In real life.
My blog is totally stupid and not nearly enough about him as I recall but they told me to keep it under 250 words. That is not enough words for STAN LEE.Also I made this when they asked me about doing it. Darn straight.
